My kids are always snacking and it’s driving me mad!

My kids are always snacking

My kids are always snacking – My kids are always snacking

I love food as much as the next person. In fact I probably love it more than most but not as much as my kids do. Having talked to many other mums about this, it seems to be a thing with children. However, if I hear ‘I want a snack’ or ‘I’m starving’ one more time, I might just land one of the kids in to the field next door due to a kick in the arse! My kids are always snacking or looking for snacks and I’m so so fed up of it!  Continue reading

Being a stay at home mum – how I’m finding it

Being a stay at home mum

Being a stay at home mum – my last house must have been an awful tip altogether!

I’m over two months in to my new life being a stay at home mum so I thought I’d give you all an update on how the new full time job is going! I don’t really count the first month because I was so consumed with getting everything organised and done for the move. However, I’m over a month in the new place and everyday life is settling down.  Continue reading

Living in the country with kids – it’s different alright

Living in the country with kids

Living in the country with kids – it’s a big change for us

I was born and reared in the country but left it when I headed off to college back in 2000. I’ve become quite accustomed to town living for the last 18 years. Just over a two weeks ago however, we moved from Newbridge town out to the sticks in Meath and it really takes some getting used to again.  Continue reading

I never wanted to be a stay at home mammy but now I am

stay at home mammy

I’m now a stay at home mammy

I never thought I was cut out to be a stay at home mammy. In fact I didn’t really want to be. Hell, I even wrote a whole blog post about it. That was then but here I am some two years on and I’m exactly what I didn’t want to be. Except I changed my mind.  Continue reading

SpotOn Football – a genius product for young GAA players

SpotOn Football

Aidan with his SpotOn Football

If you haven’t guessed it, the GAA is king in our house. I love it. Daddy Chambers loves it. Aidan loves it and Sarah is getting there. I’m totally chuffed that Aidan is passionate about playing football. I want sport to play a huge part in the kids’ lives. I want them to enjoy it but to enjoy it I firmly believe kids have to be decent at it.  Continue reading

Soccer stars don’t get a look in with my local GAA mad child

GAA mad child

My GAA mad child: Aidan was over the moon to meet one of his heroes, Moorefield’s David Whyte, recently

I was raised on sidelines. I was fed sport from an early age. I was a GAA mad child and it, and sport, consumed my father’s life. He ran marathons, he cycled, but when I was a small one, it was the GAA that trumped all in our house. Walterstown GAA in rural Co Meath to be precise.  Continue reading

Help! Stranger Danger – my daughter so doesn’t get it

Stranger Danger

Stranger Danger – This little madam loves strangers. A bit too much for my liking!

I’m really lucky that both Aidan and Sarah are very social kids. Neither of them are shy, they instantly make friends with other kids and adults alike. You would never think it, but Aidan is slightly more shy than his sister. It always takes him a few minutes to warm to new people, but once he does he’s in like Flynn!  Continue reading
