We have a playroom packed to the gills with toys. Big ones. Small ones. Broken ones. Aidan and Sarah’s bedrooms are also packed with things to play with. It seems to be the story in most houses the length and breath of the country. Half of them are never played with. However, there’s one toy that Sarah consistently has in her hand since the minute it arrived to the house. It’s her Muddy Puddles Lottie Doll and a wee picnic set, also from Lottie Dolls.
Earlier this year we became brand ambassadors for Lottie Dolls and it was our pleasure to do so. Why? Well because it’s an Irish brand but more importantly Lottie Dolls are inspired by real children, there’s no make up and no short skirts, just reality. They are fabulous quality, ethnically diverse, age appropriate and kids can totally relate to them.
Sarah picked Muddy Puddles Lottie because she herself is a big fan of muddy puddles, particularly jumping in them, thanks in no small part to a British cartoon character who happens to be a pig! Lottie arrived boxed and in the cutest yellow raincoat, yellow wellies, striped blue tights, a white t-shirt with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was ripped out of the box immediately!
The day in question happened to be a dry day in Kildare but Sarah was adamant she was bringing Lottie outside to jump in muddy puddles! I had to supply her with a bowl of water so she could go outdoors and have a bit of craic with her new dolly!
Thereafter it was time for a bite to eat and out the girls went to the front garden to have a picnic. The wee picnic set from Lottie Dolls is super cute. It comes with a tartan blanket, a picnic basket, two cups, two cupcakes and two plates. It’s great for role play. Sarah excitedly munched on the cupcakes, helped Lottie have hers and washed it down with a pretend cup of milk.
Lottie even came on holidays to Holland with us. Don’t tell Sarah but we actually lost her in Eindhoven Airport and had to buy her a new one as soon as we returned home. We told her a white lie and said Lottie had to fly to England to go visit her sister and that she would be home in a few days! Thankfully that kept her happy until the new one arrived!
Since then we have invested in more Lottie Dolls for Sarah. She now has the Rockabilly Lottie and the Birthday Girl Sofia doll, who she both insisted came to Electric Picnic with us in September. In addition we also treated her to the Lottie Sweet Dreams Outfit set and she now dresses Muddy Puddles Lottie for bed every night and tucks her up beside her. On the shopping list for Christmas is the Lottie Tree House and some new outfits, at the request of Sarah of course!
Although we received Muddy Puddles Lottie and the picnic set for free, in order to review, we are genuine fans in this house. I personally just love the concept of the brand.
In case you’re wondering you can buy Lottie Dolls in all good toy stores or directly from their website. Keep a close eye on their social media pages for some great discounts too: Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
